Analytical precision and passion are the distinctive characteristics of the Venetian ensemble, inherited quality of two basic schools of quartet interpretation: the "Quartetto Italiano" under the guidance of Maestro Piero Farulli and the Mid-European School of "Vegh Quartet", through several meetings with Sandor Vegh and Paul Szabo.

They had the honour of playing for His Holiness Pope John Paul II and the President of Republic of Italy.
The repertoire of the Quartet of Venice is extremely rich and includes, apart from the most well-known ones, works rarely performed works like the quartets of G.F. Malipiero ("Italian Critics Award" as the best chamber recording). The vast disc production includes 19 CDs for Decca, Naxos, Dynamic, Navona, Fonit Cetra, Unicef,Koch.
The CD Ritornello, music of Curt Cacioppo, on Navona Records was nominated for a Grammy Award.

From 2017 the Quartetto di Venezia is “Quartet in Residence” at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice.
